About Me

me making a glass bead

I’m an artist who lives and works in the great city of Cleveland, Ohio. A fine artist, illustrator, and graphic designer by trade (and jewelry designer by night). 😉 I am a self-taught cook and have cooked and baked from a young age with the guidance of my mom and grandma and have had a passion for it ever since. (I could open a library with my cookbook collection..LOL).

I, along with my husband Jimmy, have always enjoyed food and cooking for family and friends and I thought this would be a great way to document our culinary adventures and share some of my recipes and techniques. I love to teach other’s how to cook and I am passionate about GOOD food and having an “unprocessed” lifestyle and make as much as I can from scratch. I believe that food brings people together and, if I do anything with this blog, I hope to share with those who don’t know how to cook (or think they don’t have the time), how to make good food at home instead of going out for “fast food”—and, for those who already love to cook, I hope to teach you something new and interesting!

You can usually find me on my computer (Mac, of course!) working diligently at my businesses, Myriad Design Works (graphic and web design) and Katydid Studios (illustration and jewelry design), reading up on my favorite blogs and forums, at my torch in my jewelry studio melting glass, or, armed with my great-grandmother’s wooden spoon (which is featured in the blog logo), cooking my latest creations in my kitchen!

I hope you enjoy it! 🙂
